The Picasso Hotel is situated just off the mouth of the River Ter, beautiful place known as the torroellencs Gola del Ter, which is included within the Natural Park of Montgrí, Medes Islands and Lower Ter.

The Massif Montgrí is a geological formation of limestone pre-Pyrenees and is stored in a thirteenth century castle and the Hermitage of Santa Caterina from fourteenth century. It contains large tracts of pine, scrub oak and a long coastline full of coves (exemple are Cala Montgó and Cala Ferriol) and towering cliffs, caves and potholes as well.

The Medes Islands was the natural continuation of the Massif Montgrí erosion that has been separated away from the coast over a kilometer. The flora and fauna that is preserved under the waters of the islands are of high conservation maritim value, the best of Catalan coast.

The Lower Ter is a river that runs through flat fields carved careful and small villages that each retains its unique beauty and history: Colomers, Verges, Peratallada, Bellcaire, Pals, Palau-Sator, Canapost, Vulpellac, Jafre, Ultramort, Ullestret, etc.
